We call our place "Paradise Mountain", as we have 52 acres of secluded paradise, with thousands of acres of unoccupied government crown land surrounding us. Unbelievable "PRIVATE" hiking/snowshoeing trails for your own pleasure! We are high up on a 950 foot ridge on Vancouver Island, overlooking the Straight of Georgia/Salish Sea and Texada/Lasquetti Islands...and The Coastal Mountains and glaciers....the views are spectacular!! Sunrises are amazing!! Our 1400+ sq.ft. home utilizes a solar power system. The fridge and stove run on propane. We heat our home with wood with an amazing Napoleon cast iron wood stove. Our home has a 400 sq. ft. master bedroom....look at the photo of a sunrise from our upper deck balcony! 90% of our home is finished in red cedar T&G, and the cedar staircase was made from the wood from our property....our home was made with much care and thought...and love! We gather rainwater from our roofs into a 2000 gallon cistern and there are 3 others at 250 gallons each. We use a hot water-on-demand propane system for the kitchen and bathroom. There is also a 500 sq. ft. "cabin/lodge" that can accommodate 8 people, as it has two sets of bunk beds, 2 single rooms, a couple's room, and then a futon couch with table and chairs in the main area...and a wood stove for those cool evenings....very cozy!! Over 1500 sq. ft. of various outside decks to leisure on. There is a 'fancy' outhouse, for your guests, that has 2 separate toilets!!...the right side with the red dutch-door opens up and you have a great view of the sunrise as you contemplate your business! The outdoor shower-house also has an amazing view of the Coastal Mountains! A beautiful creek, Kinkade Creek, flows through our property...."virgin water"...and there is a nice little swimming hole. Seasonal creeks are perfect for a micro-hydro system. When you are up here, all you can hear are 'the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees'...I am serious, it's that quiet! There are black bears, cougar, deer, elk, squirrels, hundreds of hummingbirds during the summer, stellar jays, and hawks and eagles soaring above the trees. The driveway up is 1.6 kilometres....and no hydro poles!....we are very secluded, and yet the food market is only 6 minutes down the road. This place is also ideal to hold retreats/gatherings....this 52 acres feels like 5,000 acres as all the surrounding land is private crown land....this is truly a paradise! PLEASE, PLEASE...NO REALTORS...only those who are serious, and truly understand this amazing wilderness retreat. This is a special piece of heaven....more pictures and information can be available.
